Sarasota Arts

Sarasota has always been fertile ground for artists and creatives. Nicknamed Florida's Cultural Coast, Sarasota County is home to some of Florida's most exciting art galleries and museums, as well as active arts communities and studios. Our real estate agents are excited to share some of their favorite places to experience visual arts in Sarasota and Bradenton.

  • The Ringling Museum of Art - 5401 Bay Shore Rd, Sarasota, FL 34243
The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is the State Art Museum of Florida, and it houses an impressive collection of more than 45,000 works of art. First established in 1930, the museum offers exhibits ranging from ancient sculptures and iconic masterpieces to early photography and contemporary works. Located within a short drive of these Sarasota homes for sale, the Ringling Museum of Art is part of a larger campus and estate that also includes the historic Asolo Theater and Bayfront Gardens.

  • Village of the Arts - 1227 12th St W, Bradenton, FL 34205
Bradenton's Village of the Arts is an eclectic artists' community located just a few blocks from the city's Downtown district and a stone's throw from these Bradenton homes for sale. More than a dozen artists live and work in colorful cottages that have been restored from the 1920s and 1930s, and shoppers can visit and browse the open studio spaces and see an incredible array of unique local art. The Village of the Arts also includes a variety of specialty shops, food and drink vendors, healing arts, and yoga studios.

  • Art Center Sarasota - 707 N Tamiami Trl, Sarasota, FL 34236
Supporting the local art scene at every level. Art Center Sarasota offers art exhibitions, cultural programs, and art education for all ages and skill levels. It's a truly exceptional resource for Sarasota's artist community, calling upon regional artists to submit to themed, juried art shows throughout the year. Art Center Sarasota also hosts youth art summer camps as well as adult classes and workshops from accomplished and talented instructors.

  • Island Gallery & Studios - 456 Old Main St, Bradenton, FL 34205
A small group of artists from Anna Maria Island established Island Gallery & Studios more than 30 years ago, and it remains a vital part of the Bradenton arts scene. New and exciting works by member artists are always on display in the gallery, with many items being available for purchase. Island Gallery & Studio also offers a wide range of classes, demos, and events, including free, in-studio artist demonstrations.

  • Palm Avenue Art Spaces - S Palm Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236
One of the greatest concentrations of local art galleries and studios in Sarasota can be found along Palm Avenue between Coconut Avenue and McAnsh Square. Within the span of three city blocks, this lively Downtown strip includes nearly a dozen art spaces. Explore wide-ranging works by a multitude of fine artists at galleries like Milan Art Gallery and Palm Avenue Fine Art, or visit spaces that each focus on the work of a single artist, like Meg Krakowiak Studio and Define Art Gallery & Studio. Plus, some of Sarasota's best restaurants and cafes are within walking distance.
