Sarasota Weekend

Summer officially starts with Memorial Day weekend, and there's no shortage of things to do around Bradenton homes for sale and Sarasota homes for sale. Start making plans to join our real estate agents at these lively events and activities. 

  • St. Armands Fine Art Festival - 434 St. Armands Circle, Sarasota, FL 34236
    Kick off the summer arts season at St. Armands Fine Art Festival. Stroll through an outdoor gallery displaying the works of top artisans from around Florida and the United States. Mediums in this juried competition include jewelry, sculpture, photography, and ceramics. The artists themselves will be on hand to discuss their work and accept commissions for individual custom-made pieces. The festival takes place from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 and admission is free.

  • SRQ VETS 5K Memorial Hike - J.D. Hamel Park and War Memorial, 199 Bayfront Dr., Sarasota, FL 34236
    Honor the reason for the holiday by taking part in the SRQ VETS 5K Memorial Hike. Dog-friendly J.D. Hamel Park makes a beautiful setting for the start of the hike, which crosses the Ringling Bridge before circling back. Post-hike festivities include a cookout and music. Admission is $40 the day of the event. Price includes a t-shirt with lunch and beverage tickets. Alcoholic beverages are available for anyone 21 and over. The hike starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 25.

  • Myakka River Blues Festival - Snook Haven, 5000 E. Venice Ave., Venice, FL 34292
    Witness a piece of local history when you attend the Myakka River Blues Festival, just down the street from Venice homes for sale. 2024 marks the final year of this popular event, hosted by Snook Haven before construction begins on the property. Enjoy the serene Old Florida setting while you listen to some great blues music from four different bands. Snook Haven's traditional BBQ favorites make a perfect accompaniment. The festival is scheduled for 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Monday, May 27. Tickets are $35-$50 and must be purchased online in advance.

  • AquaPalooza - MarineMax, 1601 Ken Thompson Pkwy., Sarasota, FL 34236
    Billed as the biggest sandbar party in Sarasota, AquaPalooza returns for Memorial Day weekend 2024. Join family, friends, and fellow boaters in a day of fun out on the water. Live music pumps up the entertainment factor, and you may end up heading home with one or more of the great giveaways. Hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. Visit the website to RSVP.

  • America's Heroes Patriotic Pops Concert - CoolToday Park, 18800 South West Villages Pkwy., Venice, FL 34293
    The Venice Symphony teams up with the renowned a cappella group Liberty Voices for America's Heroes Patriotic Pops Concert. A stirring program of Americana, folk, and patriotic songs concludes with an exciting fireworks display. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, and tickets start at $23.
